We Kneaded This: A Surprise Worth Waiting For

Ryan and I had been keeping a secret for weeks—a Mother's Day surprise pizza making class at Flour+Water Pizzeria in San Francisco. Kalob and I arrived first, and when Lindsey walked in and put the pieces together, her reaction was everything we'd hoped for—pure shock and pure excitement. We joined a group of eight and got to work under the guidance of the restaurant's master pizza maker, learning the craft from start to finish—making and stretching the dough, layering on the toppings, and using the peels to slide our creations into the roaring wood-fired oven.

After all that hard work, we sat down to enjoy the fruits of our labor alongside delicious sides and a wonderful bottle of Italian red that made the whole experience feel like a proper celebration. It was one of those afternoons that reminded us how much fun it is to do something together, learn something new, and then eat the evidence.
