Sip, Savor, Celebrate!
Our first time at the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival was one for the books. We made a weekend of it, staying with friends at my aunt’s cozy beach house in Pajaro Dunes—just steps from the sand and the perfect home base for all the festivities. The weekend began with a Bollinger Champagne panel, where we had the rare treat of tasting some exceptional vintages while listening to an insightful conversation with the winemaker. That evening, Kalob and I cooked a delicious dinner, paired it with some incredible Italian wine, and ended the night celebrating our friend’s 40th with cake and thoughtful decorations that made the moment feel extra special.
The next day started slow and sweet with a brunch of pastries and good coffee before we headed to the main tasting tent. It was a dream—endless stalls of world-class food and wine, but without the overwhelming crowds. We grazed and sipped to our hearts’ content, each bite and pour better than the last. As the sun began to set, we wandered down to the beach, snapping photos and sharing in the joy of our friends’ daughter seeing the ocean for the very first time—a moment that melted everyone’s hearts. That night was another round of fantastic eats and sips, capped off by cozying up on the couch to work on a wine-themed puzzle.
We wrapped the weekend with the Pacific Catch tasting event, a personal highlight filled with fresh seafood, crisp whites, and plenty of bubbles. As the festival came to a close, we swapped favorite moments, savored the sunshine, and just felt so grateful for the kind of friends who make trips like this not only possible but unforgettable.
